Concurrent Satellite and IP Broadcasts

In many organizations, not all remote locations have a satellite receiver: small offices, SOHO's, etc., yet could benefit from the interactive programs that are broadcast.   CADE supports concurrent broadcasting over both the satellite and terrestrial-based IP networks.

Programs are broadcast as normal using the satellite uplink but a real-time encoder is installed in the studio to stream the uplink signal to a media server, located where there is the necessary bandwidth.  Individual learners can view the program and interact from a standard Windows PC using the keyboard, mouse, and microphone.

The encoding delay is similar to the amount of time it takes the satellite signal to reach the classrooms so both have a similar expreience.  The streaming media server can be used with small numbers of individual learners or small offices or can be used to stream to thousands of locations.  The organization can choose the best configuration to suite its specific needs.
