Trip to Kansas City, Mo.My first cross country in 45GG!!I picked my daughter, Whitney, up at Megis Field in Chicago where she goes to law school at DePaul. We then flew to Kansas City to watch her boyfriend Dale play hockey. My brother, Breck, his wife, Jackie, and their kids live there. My mom, who lives in Wichita, met us all there too. Whitney did her homework in the front cockpit!! Had her books out and was writing a paper. Not much wind turbulence in there! Every now and then she would rest her chin on the side and watch the country pass beneath us. "You know?" she said, "This is a pleasant way to travel!" I thought so too. We refueled in Keokuk, IA and turned into a headwind. It took 2 hours and 20 minutes, doing 73 mph ground speed at some points... Bummer! The next day the same route back and it only took 40 minutes... we made it back to Ann Arbor in one hop... making 182 mph as we went! I love that kind of groundspeed!! The GPS made it easy to figure a new route to take advantage of our speed.
